Upstairs: Before and After

The upstairs of the property consists of a previously converted attic space. The first room is a pass through room. It could be used as a den, or an office, or even a nursery! The second room upstairs can be used as a VERY spacious master bedroom with a great walk in closet.

The rooms themselves were great and didn't need much modification! But unfortunately as you can see in the "before" image, the previous dry-waller didn't do the best job with taping. We had to have our wonderful Dry-waller/Plasterer Bert come in and fix the seams and make the drywall more professional and polished!

Additionally we painted the rooms (exhausting) and added some new light fixtures. We also replaced ALL 35+ of the outlets and light switches (why were there so many? I have NO idea). Which was probably the most painful project of the entire house! It took my mom and I over 6 hours to complete and each one was painful in it's own way! So glad those are done!

Finally, to finish off the stairwell coming up we added a half wall to make the stairs and room safer.

All in all I think the upstairs looks open and airy and like a lovely little retreat! Below are some before and after and process pictures:

Master Bedroom "after" we fixed all of the drywall seams and repainted. Notice all of those beautiful new outlets!

Bonus room "after", added some light fixtures and a ceiling fan to add light and air flow through the room!

Added half wall to finish off the stairwell and make the room safer!
